Whenever I take a small mostly-fibre feed along to an event (to feed before working the horse, to avoid stomach acid splashes etc) I take a sealed supplement tub full of sugar beet with it, ready to mix in, but not mixed in yet. This way it doesn’t go off if left in the heat for half the day.
I do the same at home if I’ve asked someone to feed my horses who isn’t familiar with what to put in which feed – this is pretty idiot-proof!
