To mark all your horsey equipment buy a cheap hobby engraving tool from a DIY or hobby supply store. It will mark anything from leather work to bits. (Make sure you mark an area that won’t rub against the horse though!) A small “brand” – straight lines are easier to do – will allow you to immediately identify your stuff. You can also use it to engrave your name or phone number on larger items, in case of loss.
