It’s useful to have your tack-cleaning kit with you, in case you end up hanging around for a while waiting for the prize-giving.
I always wash all my tack off immediately after using it, with my trusty bathroom cleaner sponge with non-scratch scrubby side, and then leave all tack to dry.
Having my favourite Effax leather balsam in the tack locker means I can treat it too, so that on arriving home (often in the dark!) I can just put the clean tack away, no late-night saddlesoaping to be done, or, worse, leaving it to face in the morning.
