Tip of the day: getting on rein stoppers

Have the bailer twine positioned to stretch the stopped our width ways not length ways.

Most reins come with rein stoppers already on them but some don’t so you are then left with the seemingly impossible task of getting them on your reins.

With the help of two pieces of bailer twine this job can take you seconds instead of minutes or even hours!

Create two loops of bailer twine then thread each loop through the stopper having them on opposite sides (works best that they are positioned on the sides to stretch out rather than the ends which will stretch lengthways)

Put your foot in one set of the loops and pull with your hand (or attach to a fixed object) to stretch the stopper

Put your foot though one of the loops and either use your hand or a fixed object for the other loop (fixed object easier!) the rubber will then stretch to allow the rein to be easily threaded through.

This method also works just as well for bit rings.
