Great Blog – Shoeing & Foot Care

Fran Jurga is an experienced journalist who writes for several publications including Chronicle of the Horse. One of the things Fran is really interested in is hoof care. As part of this she has written an amazing blog about shoeing and hoof care.

I have linked to some of the ones I have found most interesting. I feel that shoeing is an art form that riders do not know enough about so its really interesting to see the different ways horses are shod and the care and attention that farriers put into their work in order for our horses to be able to perform.

Best shod horse at Burghley 2013 and the detail that went into the work.

Does anyone remember the awful photo of the horse with laminitis who had holes drilled into the wall of its hoof? – here is how it ended.

This whole blog is recommended reading to gain more information about the  foot and cutting edge ways in treating issues and problems. I hope you find it as interesting as I do.
