As a keen amateur photographer I have taken rather a lot of photos over the last few years and have a large number of ‘favourites’ which I have taken in that time.
Choosing one was rather a challenge so instead I decided to choose my favourite from last year.
This shot I took at Barbury 2012 during the novice sections. It isn’t the sharpest photo I’ve taken as the focus point ended up being on the horse’s hind quarters but I love it because not a single person fence or manmade object is visible in the background so it looks like the combination are just about to gallop off unhindered into the distance.
I took a number of variations of this shot and the focus points were better but the position of the rider and the horse were not.
So yes this is my favourite shot from 2012
