So I am a total sceptic about new ‘wonder cure’ potions – and I have to confess I put Hypocare firmly into that category.
Then people started telling me how good it was. And the horse struck into herself on the same day the cat got into a huge fight and I happened to be in the tack shop and saw some. It was £9.99 and I figured if it didn’t work I was happy to have wasted the money.
But it did work. It worked way better than trying to clean the cat’s puncture wounds (which were starting to abscess) with hot salty water – partly because I could hold him down, spray him and release him in one swift movement. And it meant I did not have to faff about holding up a reluctant 5 year old horse’s leg to try and apply cream – I could just hose it clean, spray it and put her away.
And two days later, the cat’s wounds look like they happened a week ago, and the horse’s wounds look like she didn’t even break the skin, and I am scratch and bruise free. For a tenner, I think that’s exceptional value for money.

It’s great stuff, and solved our mud fever battles this winter too – I just sprayed directly onto scabs (on dry legs), and they grew off with the hair and healed. Much more effective than anything else I have tried.
I second this – it really is wonderful stuff. A vet friend of a friend said when I bought it that it was no better than hibiscrub but the proof is in the pudding. Found it to work on mud fever, scurfy tail, cuts and scrapes and sunburn. Wouldn’t be without it now.
