HELP US TO HELP YOU
At a BE event recently, we had an incident in the dressage warm up. Unusually two riders fell off within 5 minutes of each other. Thankfully, neither of them was injured, but what it did highlight was that one of the riders was not wearing their number.
BE rule 5.18 states that “competitors must at all times when mounted, ensure that they can be identified by the number allocated to that horse”.
This rule is in place with riders’ safety in mind, so that if a rider should fall off and be injured, he/she can be easily identified, ICE contact details can be referenced to their entry form and appropriate action taken.
As volunteers we derive no pleasure from sending you back to the lorry park to get your number, so please understand we are upholding this rule in your best interest.
Help us to help you stay safe.
