Tip of the Day: Repel vermin in the tackroom

IMG_7502A few years ago my tackroom took on that suspiciously sweet/musty/disgusting smell, that anyone who knows it will instantly recognise as “MICE!!!”

I have a useful pack of Jack Russells who are good rodent eradicators, but unfortunately they can’t access all areas (especially the insulating panel at the back of the tackroom) and I was NOT happy.

My neighbour suggested one of these, a plug-in Vermatik repellent unit.

I thought it was worth a go, and can honestly say that since installing one of these, years ago, I have never smelled mice in there again. There’s the very occasional one (maybe a deaf mouse? The Vermatik unit works “by emitting high frequency pulse acoustic waves and electromagnectic waves which stimulates the pests nerves”) but that’s it, and they don’t stick around for long!

Available on Amazon, ebay, etc etc. I wouldn’t be without one in my tackroom, saves me a fortune, no more nests in saddlepads!
